Puzzles

So I've been looking into the type of puzzles/scenarios we could go into and I was wondering what everyone thinks about competitions and competitive puzzles? Good idea? Bad idea? I'm not really sure the impact making things more competitive would have but I'm concerned that it might detract from the experience for some people. On the other side, it would potentially make the outcomes of the puzzle more interesting.

Thoughts?

The aim was to use social networking to locate the owner of a lost camera, that was found in Greek Isles, by an Australian.
