Scavenger Hunt Links
Hey all,
Here are some scavenger hunt links... they vary in 'interestingness' and in age level - some are a bit 'young' but you could work with them to get something more appropriate.
http://www.hud.gov/kids/scavhunt.html - this one is around getting kids to know more about their town/local area - it's pretty generic but some ideas could be adapted to UQ.
Diva Girl Parties has a list of interesting ideas. The Around Town Hunt seems interesting - people have to take photos of particular things. With groups that have camera phones this could be a way of building an inter-group puzzle/image/thing. Each of the links here has suggestions on what could be used as clues.
You could also grab some ideas from the Amazing Race - global scale but they do some interesting stuff that isn't just based around finding answers. These could be used as ways of getting teams to mingle with each other - and as ways of building the relationships within groups so that they interact more.
Could also take some ideas from team-building & ice-breaker activities - some interesting ones here http://wilderdom.com/games/InitiativeGames.html. An adaptation of the Zoom one could be an interesting way of bring together the groups - similar to what Bakhreza was talking about.
An interesting (and sometimes weird) collection of team-building/icebreaker games here - http://www.group-games.com/games-by-type.
Hope this helps out.
